Repositioning Hospitality in Spain's Urban Transformation is a closed-door GRI Institute roundtable that brings together senior real estate decision-makers from Spain to examine the investment case for hotels and tourism assets. The session addresses demand forecasts for Spain as an investment market, the hotel investment strategy that works in the current cycle, yield and performance metrics including ADR and RevPAR, the practicalities of upgrading and upscaling operating assets, and the operational challenges that owners face when acquiring or developing hotels in the Spanish market. Under the theme Where the City Creates Value, the discussion covers which asset typologies are proving most viable for hospitality conversion in Spanish cities, how investors are positioning as urban short-term rental restrictions reshape supply, why regenerating peripheral districts can become genuinely investable for hospitality capital, why new hospitality supply is so difficult to bring to market, and what separates repositioning projects that deliver from those that do not.
The 2026 edition of the roundtable is scheduled for 29 October 2026, running from 09:30 to 11:30 CEST, and is co-hosted by JLL at the JLL Madrid office, Paseo de la Castellana 79, Tetuan, 28046 Madrid. The programme opens with welcome and registration from 09:30 to 10:00, followed by the main discussion from 10:00 to 11:00 and a closing farewell until 11:30. The session is moderated by Paula Albaladejo, Head of Project and Development Services and Tetris South Europe at JLL, with contributions from Carlo Paguio, Director of Strategic Partnerships Europe at Hotel101 Global, Miguel Casas Albandor, Managing Director Hospitality at Stoneweg, and Mitra Ghamsari, CEO and Managing Partner at Persepolis Investments.
The roundtable is part of a wider GRI Institute hospitality programme in Spain for 2026, alongside the Espana GRI 2026 conference held in Madrid on 29 and 30 April at Hotel Wellington and the Spanish Housing and Flexible Living Models roundtable in Madrid on 11 November. Attendance at GRI Institute events is restricted to members, and participation is by invitation and registration only.
